Study CirclesDEFINITION The Study Circle is a strategy used by Bahá’í Institutes their courses to reach a greater number of people in their regions; knowing that the purpose of the institute is to raise up a certain percentage of friends as human resources, who have the desire to learn how to teach and how to deepen the majority of believers. Study Circles constitute the primary program of each Regional Training Institute. Study Circles are a strategy of the institute for taking the process of the institute to different localities. Study Circles “are not deepening classes, nor local institutes, but elements of a system of distance education administered by a national or regional institute.” (Universal House of Justice; Training Institutes, p. 8) Study Circles are groups formed by approximately 8 to 10 people who meet regularly to study a sequence of Ruhi courses. The Study Circle is not limited only to the study of these courses. They are core groups of community life, living and growing elements that develop in their participants, an enormous potential for the promotion of entry by troops. The Study Circle must function based on the criteria of camaraderie, love and unity. A well developed Study Circle is like a tree that gives abundant fruits.
